A 19-month-old girl who lives in Bel-Air was suspected of being kidnapped while she was taking a Filipino domestic helper to school. Another man involved in the case was arrested and charged with kidnapping. The case appeared in the Eastern Magistracy today (5th).
The prosecution requested that the case be postponed to allow the police to conduct further investigations, including testing the defendant’s cell phone and DNA. The case, along with another related case, was postponed until March 4th.
The defendant was released on bail of 10,000 yuan, but was not allowed to enter the Bel-Air area.
Defendant Wang Jiankun (41 years old, unemployed), was charged with He Lianjin and another man at 700 Victoria Road, Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong on December 8, 2021, for taking X away and imprisoning him by force against his will. Intent to obtain a ransom or benefit in exchange for its release.
Since the prosecution did not object to bail, the magistrate allowed the defendant to be released on bail of 10,000 yuan. During this period, he was not allowed to leave Hong Kong. He had to surrender his travel documents, live at the reported address, and report to the police station twice a week, and he was not allowed to contact witnesses. It is not allowed to enter the Bel-Air area.
