The committee chaired by Asher Grunis submitted its recommendations • Some of the nine candidates: Dr. Roi Sheindorf, Adv. Raz Nazri and Adv. Gali Bahrav-Myara


The professional-public committee for the nomination of candidates for the position of Attorney General submitted today (Wednesday) the full list of candidates.  

The nine candidates are: Judge Michal Agmon-Gonen, Adv. Itai Ofir, Adv. Gali Bahrav-Myara, Prof. Ariel Bandor, Dr. Aviad Bakshi, Adv. Il Yinon, Prof. Barak Medina, Adv. Raz Nazi Dr. Roy Sheindorf.

The committee said: "We will summarize our conclusions no less than 21 days after the publication of this announcement." 

The members of the committee, whose composition was completed only a few weeks ago, are former Minister of Justice Dan Meridor, MK Zvi Hauser, a representative of the Faculties of Law, Prof. Ron Shapira, and a representative of the Bar Association, Adv. Tami Ullman.

Justice Minister Gideon Saar has previously stated that he is considering splitting the ombudsman's role into two positions - one head of the Attorney General and the other head of the General Prosecution in Israel, and to ensure that the new ombudsman supports strengthening the protection of the rights of criminal suspects and defendants.

As mentioned, Minister Saar's candidates, who appear as expected in the list published today, are Adv. Gali Bahrav-Miara, who served for eight years as Tel Aviv District Attorney, as well as Adv. Raz Nazri and Adv. Roi Schneidorf, who serve as Deputy Attorney General.
