After the three coalition parties of the federal government, the Union is also supporting a second term of office for Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. After joint deliberations on Wednesday, it is clear early on: The presidia of the CDU and CSU will make a corresponding recommendation, as the German Press Agency learned from participants.

Munich / Berlin - The presidia of the Union parties will discuss a common position on the upcoming election of the Federal President * in mid-February 2022 on Wednesday (from 9 a.m.). In a video channel chaired by the two party leaders Armin Laschet (CDU) and Markus Söder (CSU) should decide whether the Union supports the re-election of the current incumbent Frank-Walter Steinmeier in the Federal Assembly on February 13th.

In the early morning Laschet in Berlin and Söder in Munich want to inform about the result of the meeting.
