Theresia and Ferdl Galli stop running the Tölzer Reutbergstüberl after 26 years.

So far there is no successor.

Bad Tölz - He was an innkeeper with body and soul.

Ferdl Galli was always actively supported by his wife Theresia.

But now the landlords of the “Reutbergstüberl” on Tölzer Schützenstraße have decided to take a well-deserved retirement.

“Even if the step is not easy, on January 9th it will finally be over”, says the trained master butcher and cook from Carinthia as the date for the farewell and assures: “It has nothing to do with Corona and it has nothing else to do with it Problems. "

It wasn't easy starting 26 years ago

Rather, the "Galli", as he is called by his regular guests, is convinced that he has now chosen the right time due to his age. You can't tell he's 70 years old and there's no reason to complain in terms of health either, but these are the best prerequisites for enjoying your free time.

When the request came from Hans Kappelsberger - then Chairman of the Board of the Reutberg Brewery - 26 years ago, Galli did not have to think twice about it.

"It was not an easy start, but the parlor soon became a popular address for locals as well as holidaymakers and day-trippers," says Theresia Galli, who worked as a kindergarten teacher for a long time and helped out in the restaurant after work.

A good bourgeois, Bavarian cuisine, always prepared with regional, fresh products made the circle of regular guests bigger and bigger.

For a long time there was no day of rest in the “Reutbergstüberl”

For a long time there was no day of rest, Ferdl Galli stood in his restaurant all week, and there was no company vacation.

“We stuck to the word service, which contains the expression serve.

For this we have received trust and loyalty from the guests, ”says Theresia Galli.

And so the guest room and the adjoining room were always well attended, and on nice days the seats on the terrace filled up quickly.

“Roast pork was an absolute hit,” reports the departing landlord.

He would be happy if his successor continued to run the restaurant in a similar style.

A successor as host is still being sought

Nobody has been found yet. Interested parties can contact the “Reutbergstüberl” directly or simply contact the brewery.

And Ferdl Galli would even work with us in the first few months if requested.

The innkeepers would like to say a very warm “Vergelt's Gott” to all guests and employees for the many wonderful years: “Thank you and Pfiat Eich, with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Reutberger.

But at some point it just has to be over. "
