Munich - the marmot greets every day.

As in the past few weeks, numerous people gathered in downtown Munich on Wednesday to demonstrate against the Corona policy.

As always before, the organizers canceled their planned demo.

Nevertheless, groups of people can be found in the city again.

Two weeks ago a march of protest escalated in the university district, and in the last week the police had everything under control.

Once again, thousands of police officers are on duty and a helicopter supports the officers from the air.

Corona demo in Munich: Police arrest group of people at Marienplatz

Before the planned event, the police referred again via Twitter to the general decree of the city, which forbids so-called "corona walks". This time the largest gatherings are evidently to be found at Marienplatz and Stachus. Several groups of people had come together there, the police announced on Wednesday evening. "We are on site with strength".

According to a spokesman, the police have meanwhile blocked the transition from Marienplatz to Kaufingerstraße. Several groups of protesters wanted to run together from Marienplatz through the pedestrian zone to Karlsplatz / Stachus. That should have been prevented by means of the chain of police officers. The police could not give an estimate of the number of participants. There are also numerous passers-by who went shopping or are on the way home from work, said the spokesman.

According to the

SZ

, individuals such as “no dictatorship” and “resistance” could be heard from the crowd.

The police had informed everyone present at the unannounced meeting about the currently applicable general order, they informed them via Twitter.

You start now with the establishment of the personal details.

Administrative offense proceedings will apply to those people who have not left after being requested to do so by the officials.
