BRUSSELS -
Italy all in dark red except Sardinia which remains in red
as in last week's data.
This is what can be seen in
the updated maps of the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Ecdc)
on the situation of Covid infections in Europe.
Compared to December 30th, therefore, Sicily, Calabria, Abruzzo and Basilicata, Molise and Puglia go from red to dark red (a shade that determines the highest risk of contagion according to the ECDC).
The rest of Europe also in red or dark red with the exception of Romania
.
The dark red, which indicates a sharply increasing incidence of new cases (over 500 cases per day per 100 thousand inhabitants), covers the entire Iberian Peninsula, France, Germany, Benelux, Greece, and also most of Italy (for example except Sardinia), the Scandinavian and Baltic countries and Central-Eastern Europe.
The one exception is Romania, where the only orange and green regions in Europe are found.
