Damascus-SANA
The Ministry of Health announced the availability of a number of qualitative drug items for patients with chronic diseases, including heart and nerves, and they are distributed free and immediately in the central pharmacy within the ministry’s building in Damascus.
The ministry said in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that the drug items that were provided include “Carbamazepine 200 mg tablets,” in addition to the continued availability of “Amiodarone 200 mg” and “Azathioprine 50 mg.”
The ministry indicated that the drug is dispensed according to a medical report that proves the medical condition and the monthly need for the drug, provided that the boxes delivered to the patient or his family are sealed with the pharmacy’s seal to prevent misuse and that the empty envelopes are returned to the pharmacy before receiving the new quantity.
The ministry indicated that the amount disbursed is sufficient for the need of three months for each patient according to a prescription issued by the specialized doctor with the annual renewal of the medical report, stressing that the siege and unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria are still delaying the process of importing imported medicines and not arriving on time.
