The EU condemns the sending of Moscow forces to suppress the protest against the regime in the Central Asian country • Foreign Ministry issued travel warning to Kazakhstan

Violent protest in Kazakhstan does not subside as thousands of protesters clashed with police and military forces in the city of Almaty, the largest city in the Central Asian country.

According to some reports more than 30 protesters were killed and hundreds more injured, some receiving medical treatment on the street.

Police say 12 policemen were killed in the riots and dozens more were injured.

A Kazakh police spokesman claimed that the head of one of the policemen was beheaded after he was beaten to death by "terrorists".

Videos posted on his social media will show Russian soldiers landing and spreading on Kazakhstan soil for the first time.

Protesters posted on his social media network that Russian forces had already joined local police and the army in an attempt to quell the riots in the country.

According to some reports, his army and army forces managed to re-occupy Almaty International Airport, the country's largest and most important airport, during the afternoon, and expelled the protesters who had barricaded themselves in the Netivot House buildings.

The airport has not yet returned to operations and flights to it are still canceled.

Foreign Ministry has issued a travel warning to visitors to Kazakhstan.

The warning reads: "In light of the severe riots in Kazakhstan in recent days and the declaration of a state of emergency in the country, the Foreign Ministry today issued a recommendation to Israeli citizens considering coming to Kazakhstan to exercise caution and avoid non-essential visits to the country.

Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Peshnyan announced overnight that Allied peacekeeping forces would be transferred to Kazakhstan, where police forces would regain control of Almaty's largest city.

The alliance includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and it has responded to an explicit request from the Kazakh president following the overt rebellion against the regime that has taken place in the country in recent days.

As you may recall, the protest against the government turned into an armed uprising when rebels and soldiers who defected from the army took over the country's largest airport and public buildings in Almaty.

Tokayev himself responded to the protest against the cost of living and the political stalemate, saying he would act with "maximum rigidity" against the protesters and warned not to back down from his position.

The protest began last week in the country's western Mangistau province, near the Caspian Sea, where citizens and oil industry workers demonstrated in protest of the authorities' decision to raise fuel prices.

The protest spread from labor camps and small towns to the provincial capital of Actao, where hundreds marched in protest on the city’s main streets.

Yesterday the protest first reached the capital Norsultan, and it seems that the authorities are determined to suppress the outbreak of the tremendous public outrage.
