An individual, who presents himself as a 15-year-old Algerian minor, was arrested - not without difficulty - on the night of Monday to Tuesday, January 4 after an attempted burglary in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, we learned this Thursday from a police source, confirming information from Actu 17.

It all started with a call from a resident of the Périer district (8th arrondissement) around 5 a.m.
The man witnesses the suspicious behavior of an individual driving a Peugeot 3008 which seems to be prowling around several houses.
To the police, the witness gives the registration number of the vehicle and the results immediately fall: it is about a rental vehicle declared stolen.

A first emergency police crew was immediately dispatched to the scene and came face to face with the suspect, still in the stolen car.
The officials ordered him to get out but the man presses the accelerator and
"deliberately"
rushes towards the police, as a police source assures us.
A few tens of meters further, the suspect struck the vehicle of a second police crew called in for reinforcement.
He then engages reverse gear, stamps a small wall and returns to the first police officers.

Caught in a vice, the vehicle finally comes to a stop.
But the doors are closed and the suspect refuses to go out.
The police, who try to break a window to reach the driver, find that the latter is holding a bladed weapon in his hand, a kitchen knife about 26 cm long.
Seeing himself trapped, the man tries to stab the police officers, aiming one of them directly at the level of the head, and slightly injuring a second in the hand.
Officers have no choice but to use tear gas to bring him under control.
The latter is finally extracted from the vehicle, brought to the ground and handcuffed.

In a proven state of intoxication, the suspect was taken into police custody, in particular for "attempted murder of a person holding public authority", "attempted break-in", "rebellion" and "concealment of theft" . During the observations that followed the intervention, the police discovered that the respondent had broken the bay window of a house located near the place of his arrest, obviously without having had time to enter.
Investigations are still underway, in particular to establish with certainty the identity of the suspect who claims to be an Algerian minor aged 15 and homeless.
