Unvaccinated people currently only have access to shops for daily needs.
Electronics retailers like Media Markt are not among them.
A Munich branch has now suspended the 2G rule.
Munich - There are currently stricter rules for unvaccinated people when it comes to shopping.
Since the beginning of December, people who have not recovered or have had a corona vaccination have only been able to shop at basic providers.
A strict 2G regulation applies to all other businesses.
This also applies to electronics retailers such as Media Markt.
2G rule in retail: Münchner Media Markt also lets unvaccinated people in
But a Media Markt branch in Munich waives this rule.
The Media Markt in the Euro-Industriepark has surprisingly suspended the 2G rule and thus also lets unvaccinated people into the store.
According to
focus.de
, the store wrote in an email to its club members on Monday evening: "You can now shop in our store without presenting a vaccination card or negative corona test." The reason given by Media Markt: "To give you a comfortable and safe shopping experience In order to guarantee, we continuously adapt our hygiene concept to the current conditions. "
When asked , customer service confirmed to
tz.de
and
Merkur.de
on Wednesday that neither the 2G rule nor the 3G rule apply in the aforementioned Media Markt.
"Currently only one FFP2 mask is required."

No 2G at Munich Media Markt: KVR wants to take action against it
The suspension of the 2G rule is probably not only the case in one Munich branch.
As the Munich district administration department (KVR) announced on request, it found during its regular on-site inspections that inspections of 2-G certificates would not take place in several branches of Media Markt and Saturn in Munich.
"However, these must be carried out in accordance with the Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance." The district administration department assured that it was in contact with those responsible and would initiate appropriate administrative fines in the event of violations.
The district administration department left open what these sanctions should look like.
Stricter rules for retail: exception for shops with daily needs
The federal and state governments decided in December that unvaccinated people only have access to shops for daily needs.
These include supermarkets, post offices, petrol stations, drugstores, kiosks, health food stores, bakeries, butchers, tailors, laundromats and dry cleaners, flower shops as well as opticians, hearing aid branches, pharmacies and medical supply stores.
In all other businesses, unvaccinated people have to stay outside.
However, there are exceptions in Bavaria.
Toy stores and clothing stores are not affected by the 2G rule.
So far, some retailers have even taken legal action against the 2G regulation in retail.
For example, the Lüneburg Higher Administrative Court (OVG) overturned the 2G rule in Lower Saxony.
All of the larger chains there have now suspended the 2G regulation in retail.
