The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission warned of the deterioration of the health status of the two prisoners, Abdel Basset Maatan and Mutasem Raddad, as a result of the Israeli occupation authorities' refusal to provide them with the necessary treatment.
The authority stated in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that the prisoner Maatan, 49, suffers from colon and gland cancer, and before his arrest, he underwent several complex surgeries and chemotherapy sessions that affected his condition. Provide him with the necessary medication for his condition.
The commission indicated that the prisoner, Mutassim Raddad, 38, who has been detained since 2006, suffers from heart diseases, nerve problems, osteoporosis, and has recently been suffering from anemia and a sharp decrease in his weight, noting that his health is in danger as a result of the arbitrary practices of the occupation against him, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence.
The commission indicated that the number of sick prisoners in the occupation detention centers reached 600, including 18 patients with cancer, calling on the international community to pressure the occupation to release them and save their lives.
