The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the current events in Kazakhstan are an attempt from abroad to destabilize and secure the country by force and using trained and organized armed formations.
"Russia affirms its adherence to the obligations of allies within the framework of the CSTO and supports the adoption of urgent measures in connection with the rapid deterioration of the internal situation and the escalation of violence in Kazakhstan," the ministry said in a statement today, noting that Moscow will continue its close consultations with Nur-Sultan and its allies in the CSTO on the issue. Take additional steps to support the fight against terrorism.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) announced today the start of sending peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan to help it protect vital facilities and restore security, after a call by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev yesterday to the organization to help his country in confronting the riots and sabotage led by "terrorist gangs trained abroad." And resulted in the killing of 12 security forces and the army and wounding hundreds.
