The Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Russian State Duma Leonid Slutsky expressed his conviction that the events in Kazakhstan indicate the involvement of a foreign terrorist.
Slutsky said in a statement today: “We have seen this recently in Syria and Iraq, where this was a clear imprint of external terrorist interference,” noting that peaceful protest has its limits and cannot be accompanied by riots, destruction of property, fires, looting and intimidation. Population, armed rebellion against the legitimate authorities, and killing of members of law enforcement agencies.
Slutsky stressed that the introduction of a unit of the CSTO peacekeeping forces at the official request of the leadership of Kazakhstan is in this situation the only possible and only way to ensure security in the region in general.
