The state government is expanding the obligation to test in schools in view of the spreading omicron variant of the corona virus.
According to the Ministry of Education, people who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered will also be required to take part in regular tests in schools in the future.
The extended test obligation applies to pupils, teachers and all other staff working in the schools, the ministry announced on Thursday.
Düsseldorf - In addition to the schoolchildren, all staff will also be fully tested on the first day of school after the holidays.
"In order to enable a safe start to school, antigen self-tests are carried out on all pupils in secondary schools on the first day after the holidays," says a statement.
At the elementary and special schools as well as at the other schools with primary level, all pupils will also be tested with the PCR lollipop tests next Monday.
