The Steinhöringer commanders Anton Höfer and Bernd Dominique Freytag did not let go of the pictures of the comrades from fire brigade chats and social media after the devastating flood in the Ahr valley.

“We're a fire brigade family, you have to do something,” they said to themselves.

And she did something.

Steinhöring

- As the urgently needed replacement of the rescue scissors was pending in Steinhöring and the necessary funding applications had been made, the local fire brigade said they had the idea of donating their previous rescue scissors to the Ahr valley.

This is technically flawless, but no longer meets the necessary performance classes for modern vehicles.

"And there we have a lot in the greater Munich area," say the commanders.

As they report, they discussed things with mayor Martina Lietsch and the municipal administration and quickly found a way.

Bernd Dominique Freytag, deputy commander, made contact with the Rhineland-Palatinate State Fire Brigade Association.

The rescue scissors are very welcome there.

“Unfortunately it took a little longer before the rescue shears could be brought on the way to the Ahr valley.

Corona and delivery times say hello, ”said Steinhöringer Wehr.

Nevertheless: "We are happy to be able to do something for our comrades in the Ahr valley from far away Steinhöring and we are sure that our rescue scissors will still experience quite a few missions and be able to bring help," summed up the commanders.
