Sudan: tear gas fired at protesters in Khartoum

Protesters were heading to the presidential palace in Khartoum to denounce military power, witnesses said.


Sudanese security forces fired tear gas on Thursday (January 6th) at demonstrators heading towards the presidential palace in Khartoum to protest against military rule, witnesses reported.

Across the country, thousands of demonstrators are protesting against the coup led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane on October 25, 2021, which marked a halt to Sudan's transition to civilian power.
