The CIS Counter-Terrorism Center has affirmed its readiness to provide full assistance and support to the competent authorities of Kazakhstan to neutralize the dangers of a terrorist and extremist nature.
A statement issued today by the press office of the CIS Counter-Terrorism Center expressed concern in view of the emerging situation in Kazakhstan.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) announced today the start of sending peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan to help it protect vital installations and restore security, after a call by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev yesterday to the organization to help his country confront riots and sabotage led by "terrorist gangs trained abroad." And resulted in the killing of 12 security forces and the army and wounding hundreds.
