The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatna, stressed the importance of networking with the private sector and encouraging it to establish small enterprises to activate and develop the rural food industry and its marketing, and to benefit from the preferential advantages provided by the new investment law, which allows these enterprises to obtain an industrial and commercial license.
During his visit to a private sector facility for the manufacture, packaging and packaging of some rural products in the Qatana area in Damascus countryside, the Minister of Agriculture stated that the Ministry is coordinating with similar industrial facilities to procure, manufacture and market rural agricultural products, in addition to establishing manufacturing units and opening sales halls for rural families’ products, which numbered 16 halls. The most recent in Albaramkeh side building the ministry.
Minister Qatna pointed out that the products of these establishments are monitored by government agencies with regard to pricing, quality, specifications and the industrial registry, and they depend on the local product, which provides benefits to farmers and encourages them to increase their production.
On the 29th of last June, the Ministry of Agriculture launched a program to support and market the Syrian rural product in 10 villages, 5 of which are in Lattakia and 5 in Hama.
