The mayor of Dießen, Sandra Perzul, describes the past year as exciting, yes exciting.

It wasn't always as easy as expected and as she would have liked in her second year in office.

But some projects could be brought to an end, at least initiated and advanced.

Ms. Perzul, how are things going with the Huber houses?

The expert's office has just taken soil samples.

That took longer because a coordination with the district office was necessary.

Only then could we hire an office.

The samples have now been taken.

With this result, we know in which direction we will continue, whether extensive renovation is sufficient or whether more or less is necessary.

Some of the buildings are under monument protection, we will preserve them.

And the renovation of the multi-purpose hall?

We hired a new construction technician in the fall.

He is in the process of checking everything.

Because there are several areas that need to be redeveloped there.

On the one hand the ventilation has to be renewed, on the other hand the water pipes.

The lighting should then also be considered.

It's a total package where we need to prioritize what we tackle first.

Another property whose future lies in the hands of the market town is the Drei Rosen inn.

Living space is to be created here.

The municipal council has not yet decided whether this will be done through municipal housing or a free model.

I am currently exploring the possibilities to examine and decide together with the local council.

It is also not yet clear whether the implementation in the building or parts of it is possible, or whether it has to be demolished.

It will probably amount to an architectural competition.

Is it about social housing or affordable housing?

It's about affordable housing.

We were able to buy two more plots of land this year, one in St. Georgen and one in Obermühlhausen - but for the time being to stock up on living space.

In other words, there is no construction there yet, too many projects are currently underway, but the areas are secured for the future.

Which projects are these?

An ongoing project is the renovation of the lake facilities.

Furthermore, the expansion of the kindergarten in Dettenschwang by a group.

Fortunately, we were able to finish this right on time for the start of the new kindergarten year.

For a short time there was an employee bottleneck which, thank God, we were able to resolve quickly.

We were able to start, albeit a week late.

In connection with this, we had already commissioned a kindergarten requirement plan last year.

This clearly shows that we need two to three new crèche groups, one or two more kindergarten groups and after-school care groups.

We are currently examining whether it is possible to set up such a care facility on the communal property next to the school.

The planning is in progress.

How is the road renovation going?

We will start with the ban line next year, but first of all the water pipes have to be replaced because there are more and more broken pipes.

The planning runs for 2022, the street will then be rehabilitated in 2023.

Because there are many roads that are in poor condition, we decided to use spray asphalt for the transition to remove the worst defects.

Unfortunately, there is no other way - neither in terms of finance nor in terms of personnel.

Before you took office, the community on Mühlstrasse had tried out a pedestrian zone regulation that had been sharply criticized.

Has this subject been filed?

There was a lot of discussion. However, the municipal council decided to leave it at the current situation and not make any changes. The underground car park is now a big issue. I was just in the district office about it. In addition to the structural conditions, the ownership situation is also a difficulty. On the one hand there is a homeowners association, this occupies the first level, then there is the public level, which is administered by the municipality. A few years ago it was about the redesign of the forecourt. In this context, it first emerged that the underground car park had to be refurbished. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to reconcile owner interests and our interests. But in the meantime it's so farthat the underground car park can no longer be kept open in this state. We urgently need to act, so it's high on my list.

Is there a threat of closure?

We try to avoid that.

It generally turned out that the underground car park was not built as it was approved.

For whatever reason.

In any case, the entrance is too steep.

We have to create a new access situation.

So that means we have several problems at the same time - the renovation of the pillars that were affected by moisture and salt, the forecourt and the driveway.

We are currently still allowed to use the garage, but we will probably have to install supports.

We don't yet know how many parking spaces will be eliminated as a result.

This also affects the employees of the Sparkasse who drive to their parking spaces via our driveway.

In the worst case, there is a risk that the garage will have to be closed.

But I hope we don't have to block it.

There has also been a lot of movement in the town hall. You have some new employees.

Yes, some employees have retired, one employee is on maternity leave and employees have also changed, for example to be able to work closer to home. But we were able to hire new employees relatively quickly. In addition, we have also created additional jobs, for example in the building yard. In addition, there is now a house technician for the municipal real estate. It didn’t exist yet, so far these tasks were carried out by the construction technicians. But in the next few years they have so many projects that it is no longer possible. Somebody has to check regularly. There is also a new part-time position in the town hall for press and public relations work. I want to strengthen communication with the outside world, take people with me and inform them.I am also planning to add two more positions in the construction area. I cannot cope with the projects that we have to face next year with the existing staff. My people are at the attack.

What do you wish for next year?

That the pandemic will come to an end and that we will all get out of it healthy.

In this regard, I am very grateful that we have so many voluntary helpers in the market town who, for example, got involved in the vaccination days.

And I hope that the congregation will go a long way with their big projects.

But it won't all happen at once.

And of course I wish that the club events and the pottery market can finally take place again in the new year.
