The elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus organized a violation of a store selling batteries after the explosion of three batteries he sold to a store in the kindergarten, causing a fire.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus, Muhammad Bassam Ibrahim, explained in a statement to SANA that the directorate’s personnel organized a violation of providing a wrong service to the battery store, as it caused harm to the consumer as a result of the explosion of three out of eight batteries in a commercial store in Al-Rawdah.
The arrests of the directorate’s elements, according to Ibrahim, included a chicken seller with a violation of possession of wings unfit for human consumption with a foul-smelling and discolored odor and cheating with the same merchandise in the Al-Midan area with a quantity of 135 kilograms prepared for barbecue, which was seized and destroyed immediately, as well as a Barkan Al-Din bread seller with a violation of trading in ration bread and collecting electronic cards.
According to Ibrahim, the rest of the violations included not showing purchase invoices and not announcing prices in shops in several commercial markets, stressing dealing with violators in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law.
