Just a "walk"?

For a few weeks now, an unannounced protest march has been pulling through the Loisach town on Mondays.

The "WOR tolerant" alliance no longer wants to take walks by corona deniers and vaccination opponents.

A human chain is planned for next Monday.

Wolfratshausen

- Next Monday, hundreds of “strollers” with candles in hand will populate downtown Wolfratshausen. But this time they won't be alone. An alliance of citizens who gather under the name “Human Chains for Solidarity: WOR tolerant” will demonstrate from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Marienplatz for a solidary way out of the pandemic.

"We see in the silence of the strollers the shortcoming of a not openly held discourse, and in the refusal of the protesters to openly take responsibility for their attitude and their protest, a danger for the democratic processes," said a message on Friday afternoon was posted to the press.

It is signed by Peter Lobenstein (Greens), Ulrike Krischke (Citizens' Association), Gerald Bruschek and Konrad Huber.

IT specialist Konrad Huber (58) has registered for the event.

This happened quite deliberately: He is not affiliated with any party, the counter-demonstration should have a non-partisan character.

Unlike the "walkers", he and his people want to stand up for their cause with their full names.

“We do not hide behind silence or any kind of ostentation, we show ourselves,” he says.

In the past few weeks, Huber has observed the daily goings-on of corona deniers and vaccination opponents in his hometown with growing horror.

To find out what was really going on, he even registered with the messenger service “Telegram”, where the local strollers talk to each other.

"After a few days of reading along, I was absolutely horrified and was really afraid for the future of our society," he says.

When he gave his opinion, he was banned very quickly.

"They supposedly don't have a system administrator."

Now Huber went on the offensive and in turn founded a group called “Wolfratshausen defends itself.” With this, he has made himself independent of the Facebook group “You are from Wolfratshausen, if ...”. “The topic would have been watered down there.” The main purpose of the new group is to organize the counter-demonstration and to promote values such as tolerance, consideration and solidarity. “We had 180 members within three days,” he says. That makes him optimistic that around 150 citizens can be mobilized on Monday.

The Wolfratshausen police chief confirms that the demonstration has been properly registered.

It should take an hour.

“The applicant adheres to all requirements,” says inspection manager Andreas Czerweny.

He suspects that the walkers will be a little less than last, maybe 600 or 700. "Normal life is starting again, some may have something different." Days to worry.

Basically, he points out that the demonstrators mostly come from the Wolfratshauser police force, i.e. Loisachstadt and the surrounding communities.

According to him, the walks are not infiltrated by rights, unlike in Murnau, for example, where there is a strong AfD.

“The Leipzig mob isn't marching through the streets here,” he says.

“These are people who have lost confidence in the state.” The fact that the police have not distributed fines so far, unlike in Munich, has to do with the fact that the number of staff there is completely different.

“It's exciting from Monday to Monday,” he says.

The next Monday will be especially special.
