First report Friday, January 7th, 10.30 a.m .: Irschenberg / Bad Aibling

- excursion traffic on the bridge day, backlogs due to block handling for trucks entering Austria: the A8 motorway is heavily used on Friday, January 7th. This is probably one of the reasons why a serious accident occurred around 10 a.m. between the Irschenberg and Bad Aibling junctions in the direction of Salzburg. According to Google Maps, the accident site is at the level of the Im Moos car park just before the Bad Aibling junction.

As the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South reported in advance information, several cars and trucks crashed into the end of the traffic jam.

"There is still no precise information about the number and severity of injured people," said the police.

In addition to the ambulance service and the fire brigade, several patrol car crews from the Rosenheim traffic police station are on duty.

The responsible traffic police station in Rosenheim will report later during the day.

Because of the full closure to the south, the police are diverting traffic to the Irschenberg junction.

This means that the country roads in the Miesbach district should soon be full, especially since there is already a lot of crowds in the ski areas.
