A serious accident occurred at the end of a traffic jam on the A8 south of Irschenberg.

According to the police, several trucks and cars are involved.

The motorway to the south is closed.

The number of people injured in the accident is increasing.

There is now talk of nine slightly to seriously injured people.

The clearing and salvage work is dragging on given the three trucks and five cars involved.

Traffic also slows down before the Weyarn exit, as many drivers probably want to avoid the traffic jam here.

As the traffic police inspection in Rosenheim reports, according to the current status two trucks and two cars were involved in the accident. At least two people were believed to have been seriously injured. A rescue helicopter has landed at the accident site. The police, fire brigade, ambulance service and motorway maintenance service are on site with a large number. "Local road users are asked to drive around the scene of the accident extensively," writes the police.

First report Friday, January 7th, 10.30 a.m .: Irschenberg / Bad Aibling

As the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South reported in advance information, several cars and trucks crashed into the end of the traffic jam.

"There is still no precise information about the number and severity of injured people," said the police.

In addition to the ambulance service and the fire brigade, several patrol car crews from the Rosenheim traffic police station are on duty.

The responsible traffic police station in Rosenheim will report later during the day.
