The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced Friday (January 7th) to authorize the police to open fire "
without warning
" to put an end to the chaotic riots which shake the country.
"
Terrorists continue to damage property and use weapons against citizens
," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added in a televised address

The president rejected any possibility of negotiation with the protesters and promised "
the elimination
" of "
armed bandits
" after several days of deadly riots in the country. Their liquidation "
will be done soon
," he said. According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country's largest city, Almaty, was attacked by “
20,000 bandits
” with a “
clear plan
” and a “
high level of combat readiness
”.
The President of Kazakhstan also warmly thanked his Russian counterpart and ally Vladimir Putin for sending troops to help end several days of deadly riots in the country.
