Kochel - A tragic accident occurred on Friday (January 7th) between Kochel and Schlehdorf.
A seriously ill driver (71) died in the clinic.
According to the police, “serious health problems” led to the traffic accident on State Road 2062 between Kochel and Schlehdorf on Friday at around 11:40 a.m. The 71-year-old driver from Benediktbeuern was driving his Mitsubishi to Schlehdorf and suddenly turned right off the lane shortly after the Loisach Bridge. At low speed the car ran over a delineator post and a sign. The car then came to a standstill on the parallel sidewalk.
According to police, first aiders noticed on site that the driver who had suffered the accident was gasping for breath and passed out. "Driving over the signs was obviously not the cause of the critical condition of the man who was traveling alone in his car," says the Kochel police station. The resuscitation of the 71-year-old began immediately. The seriously ill man was transported to the clinic in Murnau by an emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter. From there, according to the police, the news came a little later that the victim had died in the emergency room.
The police took care of the securing of the accident site, the removal of the accident vehicle by a tow company and the notification of relatives.
The fire brigade closed the scene of the accident for around 45 minutes to provide support.
The accident resulted in total damage of just over 8,000 euros.
