The new tennis hall at Baldham is to be more sustainable and massive.

But also significantly more expensive than planned a few months ago.

Vaterstetten

- The new tennis hall of SC Baldham Vaterstetten with two courts could be significantly more expensive than planned a few months ago.

Because instead of an air dome, a solid construction is to be built on the property between Baldham and Zorneding.

Previously, around 600,000 euros was expected, now it should be around 1.2 million euros.

The higher total costs should, however, pay off over the years through lower energy costs.

The project is to be financed, among other things, by an interest-bearing loan from the community of Vaterstetten and a grant from the community.

The local council agreed.

Michael Niebler: "Great respect for staying power."

The project is fundamentally not controversial.

It is of central importance for youth tennis, said Michael Niebler (CSU) in the meeting.

And he emphasized: “Great respect for perseverance.” Because the project already has a longer lead time.

At the end of May last year, the local council decided to support the association's project financially.

At that time it was still about an air dome.

But there was a desire to think again about the subject of energy.

It's about an association from the large community of Vaterstetten.

The area on the B 304 is on Zornedinger Flur.

That is why the neighboring municipality is also responsible under building law.

Its committee agreed in the middle of last year, on condition that an energy concept based on renewable energy be submitted.

Traffic is also an issue because of the driveway.

Energy consultant: Massive, more sustainable hall makes more sense

The documents submitted by the association show that those responsible have engaged an energy advisor. In summary, the SCBV was urgently advised against erecting an air dome. The extraordinarily high energy consumption and the resulting operating costs are, regardless of the energy source used, with foreseeable rising energy costs, neither ecologically nor economically sensible. Instead, it is urgently advised to make the higher investment in a much more sustainable, massive hall, the energy requirement of which is only around 25 percent of the air dome. In addition, speak the longer life, the quality of the building fabric, the lower risk of damage from falling branches of surrounding trees, due to storm or snow and the higher protection against vandalism clearly for a massive hall.

Association: If it is economically feasible, "we will do it".

In the meeting, Green Councilor Felix Edelmann emphasized his parliamentary group's demand for energy sustainability in the project.

One of the issues raised in the debate was the possibility of installing photovoltaics on the roof.

Regarding all possible proposals in the direction of sustainability, the association says: If it is economically feasible, “we will do it”.

But now it is first about whether the club can continue planning.

Zorneding also sent a positive signal in November (we reported).

According to the investment plan presented, costs of around 1.2 million euros are envisaged for the project.

The association's own funds and donations of around 70,000 euros are to be used.

A grant from the state sports association of around 190,000 euros is also planned.

In addition, there is a promotional loan from the BLSV of around 95,000 euros. An investment subsidy of 150,000 euros and a loan of around 696,000 euros (20-year term) are listed by the municipality.
