The leaders of Russia, Belarus and Armenia announced during telephone conversations today that one of the objectives of the peacekeeping forces sent by the Collective Security Treaty Organization to Kazakhstan is to prevent the infiltration of gangs from outside the border.
The Belarusian presidency said in a statement today that Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan identified during the phone conversations that “one of the main tasks of the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Kazakhstan is to prevent the penetration of gang formations into Kazakhstan from abroad so that the people of Kazakhstan itself is able to independently solve its internal problems.”
The Collective Security Treaty Organization announced yesterday the start of sending peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan to help it protect vital installations and restore security after riots and violence carried out by extremist groups.
