Despite this very particular context, the Élysée made sure to do things in a big way while the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and all the European Commissioners - with the exception of the Czech Vera Jourova, prevented because suffering - were in Paris Thursday and Friday to mark the kick-off of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU (PFUE).
Thursday evening, everyone was invited to the Élysée Palace, illuminated for the occasion with the blue and the stars of the EU.
