The Russian Defense Ministry announced that military transport aircraft continue to transport units of the Russian peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to Kazakhstan.
The ministry said in a statement today: 12 Russian military transport planes took off today from Chkalovsky Airport near Moscow, transporting soldiers from the peacekeeping unit to Kazakhstan, noting that the transport planes use the airports located in the Moscow, Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk regions.
The ministry pointed out that the peacekeeping units that were deployed in Kazakhstan have arrived at their locations to perform the tasks assigned to them.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization, which includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, announced the dispatch of peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan and confirmed that a unit of Russian forces had already begun to carry out its tasks there and had fully taken control of the airport in the southern city of Almata.
