The Association of Commercial Chains announced tonight (Friday) that it has reached an agreement with the government, regarding the abolition of the green label in malls, street stores and power centers starting this coming Monday.
It should be noted that the agreement requires government approval on Sunday.
As we published in "Israel Today" last Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance supports the move.
According to the summary, instead of the green label, the strict purple label layout will be implemented in the malls according to the following key: In businesses with a store area of more than 100 square meters: the number of customers will be limited to 15 square meters per person, and in businesses with a store area of less than 100 square meters. Customers will be limited to 7 square meters per person.
This is an aggravation compared to the restriction that currently exists under the green label outline in commerce, according to which in businesses over 100 square meters the key is 7 square meters per person.
The Association of Commercial Chains says that in recent weeks there has been a 50% decrease in sales turnover as a result of the decrease in customer traffic, and hopes that the removal of the green mark and the transition to the "strict purple mark" will reduce the damage to about 30%.
