The German biathletes did not have a chance on the podium in the sprint at the home World Cup in Oberhof.
In the opening competition of the new year and four weeks before the first Olympic race, Vanessa Voigt was the best German in twelfth place on Friday.
The 24-year-old made no mistakes and after 7.5 kilometers was 44.8 seconds behind the victorious Marte Olsbu Röiseland.
Oberhof - The Norwegian missed once.
At the same time, Hanna Sola from Belarus (2 mistakes) and the French Julia Simon (1), who were 7.1 seconds behind, landed in second place.
Ex-world champion Denise Herrmann crossed the finish line in 26th place after three extra laps, 1: 18.5 minutes behind.
The 33-year-old had to do without the mass start in Le Grand-Bornand shortly before Christmas due to an illness and was then unable to train for a short time.
It remains to be seen whether she can do better in the pursuit on Sunday (2.45 p.m. / ARD and Eurosport).
