Weger positive for Corona at the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof

The Swiss Benjamin Weger tested positive for the corona virus at the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, Thuringia.
Swiss-Ski announced this on Friday shortly before the first race.
The 32-year-old has "no symptoms and is in isolation," said the association.
"All other tests within the Swiss team in Oberhof were negative," it said.
Oberhof - Russian Eduard Latypow (27) tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
One day later, according to the IBU, an official of the Russian team tested positive and isolated.
The local health authorities are currently tracking contacts and a decision on the quarantine is still pending.

Before the World Cup in Thuringia, a total of almost 250 PCR tests were carried out on non-vaccinated team members and accredited persons or people with corona symptoms.
A total of around 75 percent of the team members in the Biathlon World Cup are considered vaccinated or recovered in Germany.
