At the first corona summit of the year, the corona measures were adjusted due to the expected omicron wave.

There are all nationally valid rules here.

Berlin - The course of the corona pandemic makes it necessary to always adapt the measures against the spread of the corona virus.

Now the Omikron variant is on the advance in Germany.

In order to be prepared for the impending wave, the federal government and the prime ministers of the federal states decided on new corona rules at the MPK on January 7, 2022.

We explain to you which regulations have been added and what else applies nationwide.

The resolutions of the first Corona summit in 2022

  • 2G plus in gastronomy:

A 2G plus rule should apply nationwide and regardless of the number of infections in pubs, restaurants and cafés.

People who have been vaccinated twice and those who have recovered have only one access

    daily negative corona test.

There is no compulsory test for those who have been boosted.

However, some federal states have already announced that they want to take separate routes, such as Bavaria.

  • New features in quarantine regulations:

The quarantine for contact persons and the isolation of infected persons has been shortened and simplified.

Contact persons who have had a booster vaccination, have recently been vaccinated twice, have been vaccinated and have recovered or have recently recovered do not have to go into isolation.

A period of up to three months is considered “fresh”.

For everyone else, the quarantine should generally end after ten days.

However, after seven days you can be free-tested using a PCR or antigen test.

Children and adolescents who are contact persons can be discharged after five days with a negative PCR or rapid test.

    Infected after seven days.

Corona rules that apply unchanged in Germany

Contact restrictions for private meetings

People who have neither been vaccinated nor recovered may meet a maximum of two other people in addition to people in their own household.

Children up to 14 years do not count.

Vaccinated and convalescent people may meet a maximum of ten other people in private or public spaces.

Here, too, children up to the age of 14 do not count.

2G rule in cultural and leisure facilities as well as in retail

Cultural events and leisure facilities such as cinemas, theaters or swimming pools are only allowed to visit people who have been vaccinated against Corona or have recovered from the virus.

The 2G rule applies.

In individual cases, a test can also be prescribed.

2G also applies nationwide in all retail stores.

Exception: shops for daily needs such as drug stores or supermarkets.

Clubs, discos and dance halls remain closed.

Restriction of major events

No spectators are admitted to major national, cultural or sporting events.

Only 30 to 50 percent of the capacity may be used indoors, but no more than 5000 spectators.

The same capacity restriction applies outside.

However, a maximum of 15,000 spectators are allowed here.

3G applies in buses and trains

In buses and regional and long-distance trains, passengers must be vaccinated, recovered or tested.

The corona test must not be older than 24 hours.

Regulations in the workplace

Employers must allow employees to work from home, provided that the work permits.

Anyone who visits their workplace must be vaccinated, recovered or tested negative.

Nursing and old people's homes

Anyone who wants to visit relatives in old people's or nursing homes always needs a negative corona test.

The rule also applies to those who have been vaccinated.

Employees also have to test themselves on a daily basis.

The next Corona summit will take place on January 24th.

Possible changes and measures will then be discussed again.

A lot should also have happened by then on the subject of general vaccination requirements.
