Another tragedy happened in Langham Place shopping mall in Mong Kok. Today (8th) at 2:20 pm, a man climbed out of the balustrade on the 12th floor and jumped down. He fell straight to the 9th floor and then bounced back to the 8th floor escalator. Fortunately, he did not survive. Affected other innocent citizens, the ambulancemen arrived to confirm that the victim was seriously injured and died, and covered the tent to cover the corpse. The glass on the 9th floor railing burst, and the debris scattered around. Due to today's weekend, the shopping mall was crowded, and many people witnessed the tragedy. Frightened, the police blocked the scene for investigation and were investigating the cause of the deceased's suicide.
This is the third suicide incident at Langham Place since its opening in 2005. On December 5, 2007, a 29-year-old unemployed man, suspected of being in debt, jumped to his death from the 12th floor of the mall and fell to the 4th floor lobby.
On May 9, 2013, a 36-year-old man jumped off the 12th floor of the shopping mall and fell down the stairs on the 7th floor to his death.
