Every week, numerous people take so-called "walks" on the streets to protest against the Corona policy.
A psychologist explains why this phenomenon is dangerous.
Bamberg - There are demonstrations against the Corona measures in Bavaria almost every day.
The so-called "walks" are sometimes violent.
Again and again there are riots with the police, as recently in Schweinfurt and Munich.
Many of the protest marches are also peaceful and without further incidents, for example in Nuremberg.

The term “walk” alone already pursues two strategies, explains the Bamberg professor of psychology Claus-Christian Carbon in an interview with the news portal. “For one thing, a walk sounds a lot more harmless than protest. So if you ask a person if they would like to go for a walk to express their own opinion and to meet like-minded people, that sounds much more inviting and peaceful, ”says Carbon. “On the other hand, the word contains the historical reference to the Monday walks at the end of the GDR.” This historical connection is “extremely dangerous” and is deliberately used “to pose as freedom fighters.” But the demonstrators are not.
“A lot of people who run along are not aware that they are making a willing sacrifice for those who actually want something completely different, namely destroy the democratic structures. Many of those involved cannot be shown to have had bad intentions - they simply do not see that they are actually being massively manipulated, ”

Bamberg psychologist: "Would never denigrate someone who marched there"
Many protesters are annoyed that they are lumped together with right-wing extremists. In the interview, Carbon points out that he would therefore never speak “of 'them'”, but of a phenomenon that is dangerous. He would also never denigrate anyone who marches there, because you can "simply not tell each individual what his motivation is". However, one of the core of this group is motivated to “destroy and unsettle”. A large part of it runs with relatively inexperienced. The associations that are awakened there are extremely dangerous. “You should never say that these are people who are not educated or who don't understand anything. They simply don't see a certain aspect, ”Carbon explains in an interview with

. Some people are blind to certain phenomena because they do not want to see them. The demos are always overdone. During a “walk” in Schweinfurt, for example, a child was injured, and the mother has been criticized since then. "As soon as things like that happen there, I am part of the whole and I should actually reflect on that and ask myself: Do I want to march with a group that uses violence or expresses itself in a xenophobic manner?"
Carbon is certain that the Corona “walks” will simply stop at some point.
"If the propagated problems such as massive unemployment, which did not exist, do not arise in the future either, then there is no longer any basis," he told

But he is also sure that there will be protests again in the next crisis.
Carbon suggests “active citizen participation, especially at the municipal level” in order to counteract such phenomena
