In order to embarrass Lapid: Discussion of the law limiting the number of ministers Israel today

The Ministerial Committee will deal with the Likud's proposal regarding the composition of the government - which was submitted by the Foreign Minister himself while he was in opposition • MK Ofir Katz, initiator of the law: "Promises must be kept"

The Ministerial Committee will discuss today (Sunday) a law that seeks to limit the number of ministers in the government.

The law is being raised by MK Ofir Katz of the Likud, to embarrass the person who formulated the law and raised it in the 23rd Knesset, Yair Lapid, who will now have to vote against it.

The bill states that "the purpose of this bill is to repeal the provision of the law, which allows the prime minister to appoint unlimited ministers due to political needs. The proposal will save hundreds of millions of shekels for the public coffers and will streamline government and Knesset work."

It added that "the situation of a large number of ministers creates a governance problem that manifests itself in a violation of government work, which cannot be managed effectively with such a large number of ministers and deputy ministers, burdens the citizens, creates a surplus of bureaucracy and regulation and is unable to make decisions."

"Expanding the government only for political needs is a waste of public money, which can be directed to other needs for the benefit of the public. Therefore, it is proposed to limit the government to 19 ministers, including the prime minister, and four other deputy ministers."

The law also states that an identical bill was tabled in the 23rd Knesset by Lapid himself.

MK Katz said: "I have decided to lift the glove and help Lapid and my friends have a future to keep their promises to the public.

There is no doubt that this is one of the fattest and most inflated governments known to the State of Israel, a government that operates as a juicer of public money for chairs and jobs.

I believe and hope that Lapid will support the bill he himself submitted in the previous Knesset.

I am always happy to help the coalition remember the concept of 'principles'. "
