Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev stressed that the riots in Kazakhstan were prepared in advance to destabilize the situation in the country, noting that their organizers had received support from abroad.
“The Executive Committee of the CIS, where representatives of all the countries of the Commonwealth work in an international team, closely follows the development of the situation in the republic, and we are united by a common desire and goal to do everything necessary not only to preserve the countries but also to further improve and strengthen the Commonwealth of Independent States.”
Lebedev added that the leadership of the commission and the apparatus maintains the necessary working contacts with representatives of the CIS countries in an attempt to provide moral and organizational support to Kazakhstan, stressing that the commission fully supports the actions taken by the leadership of Kazakhstan and the CSTO member states to protect constitutional order and restore law in the republic.
