The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that it has completed the transfer of Armenian peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) mission.

The ministry said in a statement today: The aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry's military transport forces have completed the transfer of the Armenian Armed Forces from the CSTO peacekeeping forces to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The ministry had previously confirmed that the deployment of the OIC peacekeeping forces in Kazakhstan is taking place for a temporary period to establish stability and normalize the situation in the country, where forces from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are participating in the mission.

The leaders of Russia, Belarus and Armenia announced during telephone conversations yesterday that one of the goals of the peacekeeping forces sent by the Collective Security Treaty Organization to Kazakhstan is to prevent the infiltration of gangs from outside the border.
