A 29-year-old woman and her 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter were killed by stabbing, on the night of Friday to Saturday, in the city center of Aubervilliers.
The husband and father of the victims, also aged 29, was taken into police custody overnight.
He had fled and had a traffic accident, which allowed his arrest.
"He was taken to hospital and has not yet been heard this Saturday morning," said the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

The respondent's sister was also at the scene of the homicide.
She was seriously injured by a stabbing weapon and jumped out of the window of the apartment on the second floor of a building in downtown Aubervilliers.
