Suffering in recent months from serious medical condition • Hamas did not explicitly state the cause of death • 1,233 corona patients are in the Gaza Strip • 35 hospitalized in critical condition

Hamas announced today (Saturday) the death of the sister of the leader of the terrorist organization in Gaza, Dr. Jamila Sinwar.

Palestinian sources say that Yahya Sinwar's sister has suffered from a serious medical condition in recent months and is dealing with a disease in Corona.

However, Hamas' statement did not explicitly state the cause of death.

Against this background, Hamas issued a statement of condolence on behalf of the Sinwar family, his family mourning the death of the nurse after "a life full of giving, sacrifice, effort, support and service for the fighters, prisoners, resistance and our people."

Meanwhile, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that three corona patients had died in the Gaza Strip and 42 new infections had been confirmed in the last day.

The first case of the omicron variant was recently identified in the Gaza Strip, when it is estimated that it has already spread among the population.

It should be noted that there is a shortage of tests in the Gaza Strip, and in the last 24 hours only 665 tests were conducted.

Currently, there are 1,233 active Corona patients in the Gaza Strip, of whom 35 are in critical condition.

To date, about two million vaccines against Corona have reached the Gaza Strip, and more than 550,000 people have been vaccinated.
