The Poingen unpackaged store with a small café opens on June 1st.

The initiators have now announced that.

And also the location.

Poing - Where a tanning salon is still in operation until the end of February, the Poing unpacked shop with a café will open on June 1st. On Epiphany, the board and the core team of the initiative presented the place where the project will be implemented. Right next to the senior citizen center, on the ground floor at Marktstrasse 5a, the 114 square meter unpackaged store with a small café will be built. The 30-year-old CEO Maria Lindner and Annika Krätschmer (also 30), who will take over the management, report around 1000 products on a sales area of 85 square meters. The vice-chairman Tobias Fuchs (44) takes over the management of the café.

The Poing Unverpackt initiative will operate as a cooperative and is about to be officially registered as such.

As Lindner reports, around 300 cooperative shares have been subscribed to so far, and the initiative currently has around 85 members.

All information about membership and cooperative or how one can buy shares and thus support the project can be found at www.poing-unverpackt.de.

For the future managing director Annika Krätschmer, the unpackaged topic is not new territory.

She has already worked at Tagwerk, which operates organic markets, and in an unpackaged shop, she reports.

For the Poinger store (after Zorneding the second of its kind in the district), the current tanning salon will be completely rebuilt from March.

Architect Birgit Mayer helped with the planning on a voluntary basis, thank Krätschmer and Lindner.

Your thanks also go to the owners of the tanning salon, who support the idea of the unpackaged shop and rent the space to the initiative.

Name wanted

The initiative is looking for a suitable name for the unpackaged shop with a café.

Here everyone can send their suggestions and ideas by email to marketing@poing-unverpackt.de, invites chairwoman Maria Lindner.

The closing date for entries is Sunday, January 16, at 8 p.m.

The hashtag is #nameless.

The Poing Unpacked initiative can be found on Instagram and Facebook.

Annika Krätschmer announces that the range will be wide-ranging;

There will be milk, cheese, dry goods, a fresh food counter and much more.

But there is one thing not, says CEO Maria Lindner: meat.

Instead, alternatives.

For the small café that will be integrated into the shop, Krätschmer and Lindner announce homemade cakes and different types of coffee.

There will be outdoor seating facing Marktstrasse.

In addition, the shop (like the tanning salon already) has its own parking space in front of the door, for both cars and bicycles.

Over time, the initiators want to offer various services.

For example: in the morning on their way to work or on the S-Bahn, customers can place their order and pick it up when they go home in the evening.

The opening days are initially Tuesday to Saturday, according to Maria Lindner and Annika Krätschmer.
