The Insurance Authority yesterday, in accordance with the power conferred by Section 35(2)(b) of the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41), appointed Lai Kaen and Kam Chung Hang from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu CPA firm as the joint and respective co-owners of Taiga Insurance. The relevant policy will continue to be in force until the policy is terminated or expires in accordance with the relevant terms.

Tyga will continue to issue written notices to affected policyholders.

However, policyholders should note that the manager is still understanding the operation and financial status of Taiga. After the expiration of the relevant policy, Taiga may not be able to arrange for renewal.

For policyholders who have received the surrender notice issued by Taiga on December 30, 2021, the 7-day notice period has expired on January 6, 2022, and Taiga will arrange for the surrender and orderly surrender of the policyholder. Refund of remaining premiums.

If policyholders have not found an insurance company to take over their insurance, they can contact Taiga in person or through their brokers or agents, and Taiga will arrange for policyholders who are affected and in need to extend their policies up to 20222 May 5th, giving them more time to switch underwriting companies.

If the policyholder does not receive a surrender notice from Taiga, the relevant policy will continue to be in force until the policy is terminated or expires in accordance with the relevant terms.
