New York - Sana
The Non-Aligned Movement Coordination Office condemned in the strongest terms the practices of the Israeli occupation government in the occupied Syrian Golan and its meeting and declaring a plan to build two new settlements to double the number of settlers there.
The office said in a statement that SANA received a copy of it today that this meeting and the provocative plan constitute an escalating and serious violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution No. 497 in 1981.
The Non-Aligned Movement Coordination Office reiterated that all measures and actions taken or to be taken by Israel, the occupying power, aimed at changing the legal, material and demographic status and structure of the occupied Syrian Golan, as well as the Israeli measures aimed at implementing its judicial authority and administration there are null and void and have no legal effect.
The Non-Aligned Movement Coordination Office also reaffirmed the Movement's position contained in the Final Document of the Eighteenth Summit of Heads of State and Government of Non-Aligned Countries, which was held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, on October 25-26, 2019 regarding the occupied Syrian Golan, including Israel's demand to comply with the decision of Security Council No. 497 of 1981 and the complete withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan to the June 4, 1967 line in accordance with Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.
Syria had strongly condemned the unprecedented and dangerous escalation by the Israeli occupation authorities in the occupied Syrian Golan and their persistence in settlement practices and grave violations that amount to war crimes, stressing that the occupied Golan, in the eyes of international legitimacy, is an integral part of Syrian territory, which will work to restore it completely by all means.
