The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform inaugurated today the Agricultural and Veterinary Secondary Building in the city of Masyaf in the western Hama countryside, at a cost of 600 million pounds, with the aim of graduating and securing working technical cadres that meet the needs of the labor market from various technical and technical professions and specializations.

And the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, said in a statement to SANA that the opening of the secondary school comes with the issuance of Law No. 38 of 2021 regarding vocational education, which aims to organize its course and secure working cadres that meet the needs of the labor market from various professions and provide training areas for students in the real work environment. By creating high school training centers and production workshops in order to raise the level of vocational education graduates from a scientific and practical point of view, in order to contribute to supporting the productive process and achieving sustainable development.

Eng. Qatna praised the efforts of all those who contributed to the establishment of the secondary school and provided it with all the modern equipment and laboratories it needs in order to raise the level of education and provide the students with the necessary skills and train them in a practical way.

For his part, the Director of the Agricultural and Veterinary Secondary School in Masyaf, Mohamed Aref Diop, stated that the secondary school is an important educational edifice for students of vocational education in the region, as it includes the follow-up of their professional achievement in its various specializations and departments. The secondary school currently accommodates 250 students for the first, second and third grades of secondary education, and is expected to accommodate 500 students during the next academic year.

With regard to the issue of transporting students, Diop pointed out that the secondary school is about 1,500 meters away from the center of the region, and students are transported by special means of transport during the morning and afternoon periods to ease their burdens.

In the same context and within the initiative of goodness, the Governorate General Secretariat, in cooperation with the Masyaf City Council and official and popular events, organized a afforestation campaign at the site of the White Hills at the entrance to the city, aimed at planting 1,000 forest plants on an area of ​​20 dunums.

Minister Qatna pointed out that the goal of the volunteer campaign was to support the vegetation cover after the encroachments and fires that affected large areas of mountainous forests and forests in the region during the past years, especially in this site, which was originally a forest site, in addition to encouraging young people to contribute to building their homeland and enhancing their sense of their ability. To plant hope and life despite all difficulties.

For his part, the Governor of Hama, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, confirmed that the governorate did not spare any effort to support the agricultural process by providing production requirements, indicating that the afforestation campaign comes within the initiative of goodness and to celebrate the Tree Day and to complete the afforestation campaigns that have so far targeted the planting of about 20,000 plants in various locations. Governorate.

The head of the Masyaf City Council, Ahmed Pasha, explained that the pine plants were chosen for their tolerance of fluctuating climatic conditions and their rapid growth, as well as their environmental benefit in terms of air purification and their importance in enhancing the aesthetics of the area, which has always been a distinguished forest site before it was subjected to infringements.

Amer Jaber, head of the Masyaf Charitable Society, expressed his thanks to all the activities that participated in the afforestation campaign for the entrance to the city from the northern side, stressing that planting forest trees is a civilized act to restore the vegetation cover of the city.
