Two Women Believed To Be Victims Of The "Shopping Cart" Serial Killer Identified

A 35-year-old Washington DC man is accused of killing women he knew on dating apps and moving the bodies in shopping carts.


Virginia authorities have identified the remains of two women believed to be the victims of a man considered a serial killer who used a shopping cart to transport the bodies of

the women he killed after meeting them through dating apps

Multiple media outlets are reporting that police said DNA analysis confirmed the remains found in a dumpster in Fairfax County on December 15 belong to Cheyenne Brown, 29, of Washington DC, and Stephanie Harrison, 48. years old, from Redding, California.

WHSV-TV reports that Fairfax County Sheriff Kevin Davis and Major Ed O'Carroll released the DNA results during a news conference Friday night.

Police believe

Anthony Robinson, 35, of Washington, DC

, is responsible for the deaths of four women found in two different locations in Virginia.

Robinson was arrested in November and charged with two counts of murder after two bodies were found on a vacant lot in Harrisonburg.

Officers gathered more evidence following the man's arrest, which led them to search an area near the Moon Inn hotel in Fairfax County.

Detectives noticed there

was a shopping cart there

and recalled that the man had apparently used one to transport the bodies in the Harrisonburg cases.

Near the supermarket cart they came across a large plastic container containing the remains of two women.

Fairfax County Sheriff Davis said Friday that Robinson "remains the prime suspect" in the four murders.

A possible fifth victim

has been identified in the Washington DC area.

The two victims who were found dead in Harrisonburg were previously identified as Tonita Lorice Smith, 39, of Charlottesville, and Allene Elizabeth “Beth” Redmon, 54, of Harrisonburg.

Police say Robinson has lived in various places, including New York and Maryland, in recent years.

Robinson's attorney did not immediately return a call from the Associated Press seeking comment on Saturday.

A message was left at his law office.
