The two Freising FDP district councilors drew a satisfied annual balance.

But there is one downer.

Freising

- “We already have a great district.” At least that's what Susanne Hartmann says.

And, according to the opinion of the two FDP district councilors Hartmann and Tobias Weiskopf, the duo of liberals in the district council is not entirely innocent.

Because, according to the message at the online press conference on Friday: Last year, numerous applications were able to achieve a lot: "We are happy about our success," said Weiskopf.

And in 2022 we will stick to many topics and be persistent.

Hartmann and Weiskopf rated successes in 2021, for example, with the fact that the district council holds hybrid meetings, that they are “incredibly proud” that additional bus connections have been implemented, and that experts and appraisers have now been called in when it comes to air purification devices for classrooms.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

However, the FDP duo mentioned that there had been a verbal argument with District Administrator Helmut Petz about the vaccination rate in the district, as did the issue of extending the U 6 from Garching.

The rejection of Bavaria's building minister Kerstin Schreyer was "a bitter disappointment," said Weiskopf.

But you stick to the matter and have "a strong comrade-in-arms" with the district administrator.

The FDP intends to play the role of “young pushers”, as Weiskopf described themselves and Hartmann, in the district council in 2022 as well. First of all, there is the subject of the Josef Hofmiller Gymnasium: According to the current state of knowledge, the FDP favor a new building, as that seems to be the best solution for the school. It is necessary that the school committee of the district and the culture committee of the city meet for a joint meeting in order to discuss the procedure. And it is important that students, parents and teachers are involved when deciding whether to build or renovate.

They are happy that the district's own housing company is still in existence - something the FDP had called for in the election campaign.

And should the JoHo actually be rebuilt elsewhere, the area then available on Vimystraße could possibly be used for social housing, according to Weiskopf.

“A lot is imaginable.” Another topic that the city of Freising is particularly interested in: the planned event arena.

For the FDP it is clear that the district is "a huge beneficiary" of such a hall, after all, the tax revenue that the city receives through the district levy also benefits the district.

West bypass leads to even more traffic for Allershausen

The FDP also wants to push the youth district day: They want to use “the fire of the young people”, see a great “think tank” in the committee.

Proposals from the youth district conference should attract more attention, the FDP also has a workshop in mind.

And then the FDP is also very happy that the west bypass is now being opened in Freising.

But there is a downer, which Hartmann mentioned: The new bypass will lead to even more traffic and even more pollution in Allershausen.

And that's why they will also remain persistent when it comes to the Allershausen bypass and the second motorway exit.

Because, so the credo of the FDP duo in the district council: "We are there for the citizens."
