Curious scenes took place in a Tyrolean ski area.

A woman from Bavaria "only" followed her GPS and therefore climbed a full ski slope.

Ehrwald / Augsburg - It's a sight that you don't see every day: an SUV in the middle of a ski slope.

A woman from Augsburg apparently trusted her navigation system “blindly” and went up a ski slope in Ehrwald - without snow chains.

Shortly before the mountain station of the Ehrwalder Almbahnen in Tyrol, she got stuck with her car in the snow.

This is reported by the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR).

Curious scenes in the Tyrolean ski area: a woman from Bavaria drives up the ski slope with an SUV

Before that, she allegedly "crossed the ski slope twice and crossed a lift lane once," according to Austrian media.

During her journey, she ignored two no-driving signs and then reached the ski slope via an unpaved forest path - which was of course full of skiers.

Fortunately, there was no collision.

When her SUV got stuck shortly before the mountain station, the woman first asked for a shovel.

"She said to me that she had a big problem, the navigation system had guided her this far," an employee of the station told the BR.

"She asked me for a shovel so that she can shovel the wheels free again."

She recommended the woman to contact the Ehrwalder Almbahn straight away.

They then came with a snowcat and pulled the car out of the snow.

The Augsburg resident apparently wanted to drive to Seefeld in Tirol by the shortest route and strictly followed the instructions of her navigation system.

That probably backfired.

With her action she amused at least some Facebook users.

“This saves you the ski pass,” comments a user with numerous salmon smileys.

Another speculates whether the woman was on the way to après-ski or whether she wanted to avoid “today's tourist traffic” by driving.

She seems to have good winter tires, says another, "not everyone gets that far".

With the help of the mountain railway employees, the woman finally got back into the valley and was able to continue her journey to Seefeld.

The incident occurred on Sunday (January 2nd).
