(ANSA) - CASERTA, 09 JAN - Unvaccinated priests will not be able to distribute communion.
This was established with a decree by the bishop of the diocese of Teano-Calvi (Caserta), Giacomo Cirulli, who also extended the ban to unvaccinated deacons and lay people given the pandemic situation "in constant and serious worsening".
He also decided to suspend all "pastoral, catechetical and formative activities in presence".
The bishop recalled the Pope's words: "getting vaccinated with vaccines authorized by the competent authorities is an act of love".
Cirulli recalled how the hosts on the altar must "be kept strictly covered in the foreseen sacred vessels".
