At least seven people died and nine were seriously injured last night (Saturday) in a rock cliff collapse on boats in Lake Capitolio in southeastern Brazil, according to rescue services in Brasilia.
Three other people are missing.
The rock wall abruptly detached from the sides of the canyon, crashed into several tourist boats, causing a wave that washed away others on a lake in the state of Minas Gerais.
Videos posted on social media showed tourists shouting during the crash, while the cliff smashed two boats.
According to authorities, divers are searching for the missing in the incident area.
Earlier, concerns were raised about the safety of about twenty other people who had been declared missing - but were located.

The victims of the collapse are suffering from crises, and one of them is in critical condition and is being taken to hospital with injuries to the head and face.
23 others suffered minor injuries.
Heavy rains have been raining in the area for two weeks, which may explain the disengagement of the huge rock.
Earlier that day a drainage ditch overflowed at an iron mine 300 miles east, causing the closure of a highway federal highway.
