This smile not only enchants the British: Duchess Kate celebrates her 40th birthday on January 9th, which the palace celebrates with new photos of the jubilee.

London - Happy Birthday, Duchess Kate!

On January 9th, the most charming figurehead of the British monarchy celebrates its 40th birthday, as reported by 24royal.de.

To commemorate the day of honor, the royal family has published new photos of Duchess Kate, which exude royal glitz and glamor.

The British royal family shared three new pictures on Twitter, Instagram & Co. that the Italian star photographer Paolo Roversi (74) took last November.

In line with the special occasion, Duchess Kate dressed up for the photos and selected three breathtaking looks by Alexander McQueen.

The dresses for Duchess Kate's birthday portraits are by Alexander McQueen, who also designed Kate's wedding dress.

On one of the two black and white photos, Kate, who looks to the side, wears an elegant chiffon dress and timeless pearl earrings of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana (36, † 1997).

Picture number two shows Kate, who gives the camera a bright smile in a frilled evening dress.  

Duchess Kate is popular with the Royal Family.

The third shot by Roversi brings a little more color into the game.

The wife of Prince William (39) can be seen in a bright red one-shoulder dress, her hair is gently wavy.

The photos were taken in Kew Gardens, in south-west London.

As the palace reveals, the birthday portraits go into the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, whose patron is Kate as a passionate photographer.

The 40-year-old compatriots can, however, initially admire the pictures as part of the “Coming Home” exhibition in Berkshire, St. Andrews - Williams and Kate's study place where they met - and Anglesey.

Duchess Kate: A quiet day of honor with her family

Paolo Roversi's photos express Duchess Kate's changes over the past few decades.

The middle-class Kate Middleton, who actually dreamed of a life far away from the cameras, has become a self-confident and popular duchess who leads the British crown into the future.

The royal jubilee will probably celebrate her big milestone in private.

Duchess Kate is said to have wished for a small-scale birthday party with her family, which will probably take place at her country estate, Anm Hall in Norfolk.
