Because he had broken through in the polls, he had attracted attention.
Because the same polls relegate him to fourth place today, he is struggling to retain it.
Beyond the existential puzzle of sponsorship of mayors, Zemmour must therefore prove his ability to widen the circle of his supporters to catch up with Pécresse and Le Pen in the battle for qualification in the second round.
